The Secret Garden of My Backyard, 2024

The Secret Garden of my yard is a sanctuary, a hidden gem offers visitors a unique glimpse into both the historical significance of the location and the creative interpretation of its past. Situated within the confines of an old, dilapidated house, the exhibition serves as

a testament to the bounciness of both nature and human history.

At the heart of the installation lies a striking bare metal frame, serving as the focal point for the display. Within this frame, abstract clay figures are arranged, mimicking the growth patterns of creeping plants. Despite the artificiality of their environment, these figures symbolize the innate ability of life to adapt and thrive, even in the most challenging of circumstances.

The choice of abstract figures is deeply intertwined with the history of the house itself. Built in 1914, the house has weathered years of neglect and intervention, yet still bears traces of its former glory. Ornamental details discovered amidst the layers of paint serve as a poignant reminder of the building’s storied past.
